Please click this link to read Acts 28:

For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. Boldly and without hindrance h preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 28: 30-31

What I heard from Jesus today is: There must be a reason!

For quite a number of people to experience what Paul experienced always asked why me. But for Paul he did not have this problem. In every circumstances and every place he could performed miracles as he always did and showed his outstanding leadership to raise up leaders and to seize every opportunity to preach the kingdom of God, bring more people to Christ and teach them to be disciples.

Let's follow Paul's example by not asking why when we face with crisis but ask how to do God's work in those circumstance.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to have our total trust in you that you have your own reason for things to happen in our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

"But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed. Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stook beside me and said, 'Do not be afraid Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.' So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. Nevertheless, we must run aground on some island."
Acts 27: 22- 26

What I heard from Jesus today is: What a God-led leader!

Let me invite you to do an exercise. Try to take out Paul from this chapter and see what you would get from all those crisis. Without Paul I don't think they could make it!

See! How important it could be if there is a God-led leader in a situation. Do you know how important it is if you are willing to be prepared, trained, anointed, appointed and led by God? Are you willing to be a God-led leader to use your life to honor God? What I got is the Lord is calling you now to come forward to serve him like that. Please pray to Him now and say YES!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to say YES to you that we are willing to be a God-led leader to extend your mighty Kingdom. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Then Agrippa said to Paul, "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?" Paul replied, "Short time or long - I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am except for these chains." Acts 26: 28-29

What I heard from Jesus today is: Grasp your opportunity!

Do you know how difficult it is to have some important people to listen to you, even for one minute. God opened a door Paul never had to bear witness of how he was transformed by Jesus in front of quite a number of important people. It was not his defence but a testimony. King Agrippa knew what Paul wanted to do so he told Paul that he could not persuade him in such a short time. I think God opened a door for Paul to make use of that short time to do quite a lot of things to those people who listened.

Paul never waste time to bear witness. How about you? How many times in the past week did you bear witness for Jesus? How many people have you brought to your church in the past month?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to grasp every possible chance to bear witness for you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

What I heard from Jesus today is: God has a purpose for you!

Yes, God has a purpose for you. And, God had a purpose for Paul. It was a golden opportunity for Paul to proclaim the Good News to so many high ranking officials. And it was such an important time that Paul faith was tested and by this kind of great faith he encouraged and inspired so many leaders building a firm foundation for the Early Church.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that you have a purpose for each one of us and that we need to know this purpose and experience your great power. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews, he left Paul in prison. Acts 24: 27

What I heard from Jesus today is: Is two years too long for you?

If you were Paul got caught in Caesarea for two years, what would you think? Stuck! Is "stuck a good feeling?

Was this "stuck" or not? I don't know! What I know is there is nothing more to say about these two years. Seems Paul was doing some kind of secret mission in the prison for two years. There are times in our lives that we feel stuck but if you use a positive attitude to look at it you may be able to live through those moments more peacefully.

I see Paul's experience here as an "open door" opportunity for him to spread the Good News to those people he had never thought of before. Trust in the Lord when similar time comes to you!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to be able to see things in a more positive way. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, "Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome." Acts 23: 11

What I heard from Jesus today is: When God say take courage!

This chapter shows us how God always want to give us assurance before we face with a major challenge. See how devastating it was from verse 12 to the end of this chapter. Forty die-hard assassins trying all their best to kill Paul and two centurions and 470 elite soldiers trying all their best to protect Paul! Wow! This is even better than the best CIA, FBI movies!

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8: 31

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to be sure that I can face with any challenge and storm with you clearing the way for me. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

"And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him." Acts 22: 20

What I heard from Jesus today is: Why Saul didn't stone Stephen?

The Lord gave a challenging question today and I don't have an answer. There are quite a number of possibilities why Saul didn't stone Stephen.

Three verses after the Bible describes the death of Stephen (Acts 7: 60) Paul became a leader to destroy arresting people and putting them to prison or even to their death (Acts 22: 4). So why Saul didn't stone Stephen but just guarding the clothes of those who stoned Stephen?

If Saul could be changed to Paul anyone can be changed! Do we as Christians give chance to those people like Saul by not condemning them and give them a space to become Paul?

This is a challenge of changing of lifestyle - A lifestyle of Christlikeness. Jesus never stopped to love and gave chance to Judah. The lifestyle changes that I am call to change myself after receiving Jesus challenging question are:
1. From judgemental to sacrificial
2. From darkness to light
3. From hopeless to hopeful
4. From stoning to accepting

Do you have more?
God is good, all the time! Can we be more like God?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to have those changes of lifestyle that I can be able to help more Saul to become Paul. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Finding the disciples there, we stayed with them seven days. Through the Spirit they urged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. Acts 21: 4

When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, "The Lord's will be done." After this, we got ready and went up to Jerusalem. Acts 21: 14-15

What I heard from Jesus today is: Go where God wants you to go!

This chapter shows us a strange situation. Two groups of leaders and prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit urging Paul not to go to Jerusalem. But, Paul insisted on going to Jerusalem. So, who was right and who was wrong?

This is always not a easy question to answer. My catch is this is a relational question. If we have a good relationship with Jesus and we can have a better chance to discern His will. Then, go where God wants you to go and do what God wants you to do.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to go where you want us to go. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

"Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears..." When Paul had said this, he knelt down with all of them and prayed. They all wept as they embraced him and kissed him. Acts 20: 31, 36

What I heard from Jesus today is: Protect and love your pastors!

Paul spent three years to train those leaders of Ephesus and made the school of Tyrannus a centre to train missionaries. How many years have your pastors "never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears"? Can you protect and love your pastors? Do you know they need your appreciation, care, prayers, protection and love? The first thing the Devil wants to do is to turn people's hearts against their pastors especially the Senior Pastor. Because in causing divisions among the leaders is the best way to destroy a local church. No one is perfect! Try to appreciate, care, pray, protect and love your pastors please!
Dear Lord Jesus,

Please click this link to read Acts 19:
What I heard from Jesus today is: All started with the filling of the Holy Spirit

It is so easy for us to focus on the two years of Paul's daily teaching in the lecture hall of Tyrannus and how the Word of the Lord "spread widely and grew in power" (v. 20). But Jesus led me to look at what happened before that. I deeply believe that what happened for those twelve men to be filled by the Holy Spirit happened to most of those Paul taught and that Ephesus later became a centre for training missionaries.

We, a group of four people, just witnessed how powerful it was of the power of the Holy Spirit in the International Alpha Conference two weeks ago. We were surrounded by archbishops, bishops, priests, pastors, leaders and Christians speaking and singing in tongues. 160 archbishops and bishops and more than 1,500 priests, pastors, leaders and Christians. I was being prayed for at least a few times by prayer warriors speaking in tongues and being renewed, strengthened and anointed. We experienced quite a number of times when people sang in tongues and I joined in by singing in tongues too. It was so powerful!

When I visited Nicky Gumble's home this January asking him of what he thought of about some churches removed the three Holy Spirit sessions from their Alpha Course. He said, "It's just like to have a Mercedes Benz but without an engine. It can be put to a showroom but cannot be a real car for it cannot move." I think Nicky's word may give us a true picture of why the early church was on fire, why International Alpha was on fire and why there are more than 18 millions people completed Alpha Course all over the world. 18 millions, can you believe that? It is the Holy Spirit! We need to be with Jesus daily and to be filled by the Holy Spirit daily!

Without the Holy Spirit everything would just be "information". There are too much "information" around you everyday and you don't need to have more and more "information". What you really need is "transformation"!

Dear Holy Spirit,
Come and fill us that we can be filled, anointed and strengthened to do God's Kingdom work. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

What I heard from Jesus today is: Coach your disciples to be coaches

Lots of leaders do things themselves. Their influence will be limited. Here in this chapter is a good example of how Paul raised up and coached Priscilla and Aquila and then they could coach Apollos. How powerful it would be if you can follow Paul's example to raise up your disciples to be coaches.
