We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; 2 Corinthians 6: 3-5
What I heard from Jesus today is a very shocking message: The worst job description, yet the best!
If you are trying to find a new job and you come up with an advertisement in the newspaper of a job you are qualified with specific job description:
This job requires the person to meet severe challenges that he or she will be in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger.
Do you think you are going to apply for this job?
For a normal person of course not. Why can't we apply for another job without all those kind of danger and sufferings? But, that exactly Paul's point here! Our ministry of reconciliation comes with this job description from verse 4 to verse 10.
That's how Paul says about the difference of believers and unbelievers. We have different value systems, different goal, different job description, different God, different lifestyle. How are you doing your job lately?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to understand our job description, take the challenges and do it well. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
