"timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight holing on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith." . 1 Timothy 1: 18 - 19

What I heard from Jesus today is: Are you teachable or shipwrecked?

The purpose for Paul to write this letter is to teach his apprentice Timothy regarding his ministry and personal life, to urge him to defend the truth from distortion and corruption by false teachers and to give him instructions on supervising others especially dealing with the problems in Ephesus.

Timothy was teachable so Paul taught him well to be a good leader. Paul gave examples of those unteachable leaders using the word "shipwrecked" and he named two.

Are you teachable or shipwrecked?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to be a teachable disciple of you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
