Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. 2 Peter 3: 11-13

What I heard from Jesus today is: Looking forward to die? No way!

If you got terminal cancer and know that you are going to die in a few months time, what are you looking forward to?

Peter was talking about the end of the world will come like a thief, so suddenly that no one can expect. He said that's why we ought to live holy and godly lives, the word John Stott taught us - Christlikeness and look forward to the day of the Lord. Not only that, but because of our willingness to lead a life of Christlikeness we speed the coming of that day! It's somewhat like a student after working so hard and got the first prize looking forward to the Day of Award.

Do you know the day when we die is the same day as the day of the Lord because we have completed our earthly journey to be ready to meet our Lord in the new home He prepares? So, why are you so afraid of the word "death", why not looking forward to the day and prepare that day by living a lifestyle of Christlikeness daily?

If you or your beloved are facing the challenge of death, today Jesus gives you a new way of looking to the day as the day of the Lord. It is only the daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus can get us through this most difficult and final challenge of our life. It is only you are willing to let Jesus to hold your hand so that you can peacefully enter into the journey to receive the award in heaven. That should be the most glorious day ever in our lives! So, cheer up, because if you can face death then nothing can stop you to receive the daily blessing from our Lord Jesus Christ to enjoy the peace, love, joy and many more gifts that Jesus wants to pour down on you each day. Cheer up, have faith and joyfully praising the Lord each day!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to live each day a lifestyle of Christlikeness so that we can look forward to meet you in our new home anytime of our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
