The Hittites replied to Abraham, "Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead." Genesis 23: 5-6
What I received from Jesus today is: Build bridges, don't burn bridges!
It was so easy for the Hittites to refuse Abraham's request or to make an offer that Abraham thought it was too much. But, this was not the case.
God wants us to bridge bridges and not burn bridges. But, it is so easy for human beings to burn bridges rather than build bridges, build relationships, give, sacrifice. Well, may be they learned from Abraham's way of dealing with Lot. "You go right, I go left. You go left, I go right!" I do hope that we can solve our present crisis like that! May the name of God be glorified!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to build bridges and not burning bridges . In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
