Isaac asked them, "Why have you come to me, since you were hostile to me and sent me away?" They answered, "We saw clearly that the Lord was with you; so we said, 'There ought to be a sworn agreement between us' - between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you that you will do us no harm, just as we did not molest you but always treated you well and sent you away in peace. And now you are blessed by the Lord." Genesis 26: 27-29
What I received from Jesus today is: Is the Lord with you?
What I got from Jesus today is a question and challenge for you. You may think that the Lord is with you but the fact may not be. So, what is the fact that shows the Lord is with you. We can get a good example in this chapter from Isaac's life:
1. Relationship: Isaac had an intimate personal relationship with God as shown on vv. 2-6,24-25. He could received a direct instruction and appearance from God to know where he should go and His confirmation of protection and blessing two times.
2. Give: He did not get caught in the quarrel and fight for the wells but just gave those well to the herdsmen of Gerar.
3. Blessed: He reaped a hundredfold and after he gave those well he still flourished and prospered. This rare condition made King Abimelech and his adviser and commander clearly saw that the Lord was with Isaac.
You just need to do two things and that is having a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus and be able to give whatever Jesus tells you to give. Then you will surely be blessed by Jesus, sometimes even a hundredfold, and other people will know that the Lord is with you. You life will be fruitful, so fruitful that you never can think of!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to learn from Isaac to have that intimate personal relationship with you and to be able to give and not fight. Protect us and bless us that other people can see that you are with us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
**Wednesday December 14, 2011, ACiC/AI has another new church established - Emmanuel 330 Anglican Church. This church has been having Alpha Course and then simple worship style in Empress Chinese Seafood Restaurant since March this year every Wednesday 3:30p.m.. Dec. 14 was the time for our first harvest. I baptized four adults who are restaurant workers and one child. Each one of the baptized had a 5 to 10 minutes powerful testimony and a couple who attended this new church told us how God saved their marriage through this new church plant. Yesterday's baptism was like the coming of His Kingdom!
