Bible Study
1. When God said they were clean then they were clean
The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: "This is a requirement of the law that the Lord has commanded: Tell the Israelites to bring you a red heifer without defect or blemish and that has never been under a yoke. Give it to Eleazar the priest; it is to be taken outside the camp and slaughtered in his presence. Then Eleazar the priest is to take some of its blood of his finger and sprinkle it seven times toward the front of the Tent of Meeting." Numbers 19: 1-4
The reason for God to command the Israelites to have quite some complicated purification process is very simple. Those people who were unclean could not approach God and they were considered ceremonially unclean. God used red heifer, water and ashes of the heifer to teach the Israelites what was clean and what was unclean.
2. Christ's blood provides complete spiritual cleansing
The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
Hebrews 9: 13-14
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1:7
Hebrews 9: 13-14 contrasts Christ's blood with the ashes of the red heifer. Unlike the ashes and water, Christ's sacrifice provides complete spiritual cleansing (1 John 1:7) and is always available for those who com to him in faith and true repentance. Because of Christ, we can come near to God.
Let me have two questions for you to start your listen and obey process:
1. How do you know whether you are clean or unclean before the Lord?
2. Do you know how to ask the blood of Christ to cleanse your sins?
3. How does this chapter helps you to deal with you uncleanness?

My Spiritual Journal
What I heard from Jesus today is: How do you know you are clean?
What I got today from Jesus is that it was very complicated for those Israelites to make sure that they were not unclean, and yet that was a kind of outward cleanness. No one knows you inside!
But, the blood of Christ cleanse the inside so that we are able to come close to Jesus daily.
So, what have you heard from Jesus today?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Pour down your blood to cleanse our sins and that we can come close to you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
