Today's Reading: Matthew 14: 23-36

This is a wonderful and vivid picture of what faith looks like.
N.T. Wright says:
Jesus as a shimmering figure on the water, the frightened disciples huddling in the boat, and Peter, caught between glory and terror, walking on the water towards Jesus and then ... starting to sink.
What does this picture tells you? What have you learned from this miracle?
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"
What I heard from Jesus today is: Up, up and pray!
What I received from Jesus today is not on His miracle walking on the water, nor the disciples without faith, nor Peter who had faith but then was scared and sank.
What I received from Jesus is the second part of yesterday's message. Jesus needed to rest and pray. But, because of His compassion He served those people and had the miracle of feeding the five thousands. Do you aware what is in between this miracle and the next?
His going up on the mountain to be with the Father to pray and rest!
So many Christian leaders either do not have the compassion to serve in the midst of their heavy burden, tired, anger and don't care any more mode. Or, they have lots of compassion working to death and burn out.
Where does that compassion and power comes from. We so often say:
up, up and away!
up, up and away!
So, if you want to fly each day you need: Up, up and pray!
That's the key!
How do you live it out is your lifelong spiritual journey!
Have you started? If not, start today!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Teach us to cherish the moment to go up, up and pray. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
