Bible Study

Today's passage marks the completion of the first phase training session for Jesus' disciples. The previous many chapters tells us how great, powerful and mighty Jesus is and what kind of total authority Jesus has. Jesus performed so many miraculous acts for his disciples to see and help in. It was time for them to practice what they learned. So Jesus says, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

In a typical coaching steps we have this pattern:
I do, you watch
I do, you help
You do, I help
You do, I watch

You do, your disciples watch
You do, your disciples help...and so on

If we follow this pattern, we might have a chance to train our 3rd to 4th generation disciples for Jesus before we complete our Kingdom ministry on earth and enjoy our eternal lives in heaven.

How are you willing to learn following Jesus just like those disciples did?
Which step are you in lately?
Could you move a little bit faster?
Why? Because the harvest in plentiful and Jesus needs lots of workers to reap for the harvest!

Are you ready?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: The harvest is here! Work hard please!

What I got today from Jesus is a call for you to work hard to be one of the workers to reap for the harvest. To reap for joy!

The past 24 hours is one of my happiest moment of my life. I witnessed the ground breaking ceremony of Toronto Emmanuel Church's Vintage Garden building project. And, I led a non-believer to Jesus just 15 hours ago in Toronto and I am now in Vancouver already!

It's a long story of how Jesus used me to lead a lady to receive Him as Savior and Lord of life. To make it short I got at least five incredible moments to lead her one step at a time to make her most important decision of her life.  She attended the first Alpha course of TEC last November but she did not think that she was ready to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord until 15 hours ago.

Just as the reading in our ground breaking ceremony today from Psalm 126:
Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.

There are so many brothers and sisters including her husband were full of tears knowing that I led her to have the prayer to receive Jesus. It was the tears of joy indeed!

Yes, the harvest in here! Work hard please!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that the harvest is here and that we really need to work hard so that we can experience to sow in tears and to reap with joy.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
