After yesterday's passage talking about how we need to get away from Satan's trap and gimmick not following Peter's footsteps, we come to a totally opposite picture of showing how to connect into Jesus' source of power.
N.T. Wright says:
People often suggest that Jesus was shining brightly because he was divine, and that this was a vision of his divinity, which would otherwise have remained secret. But in Luke's account Moses and Elijah are shining as well, so it can't mean that. Moses and Elijah aren't divine. And in any case Jesus himself had said, earlier in Matthew's gospel, that all God's people would shine like stars in God's kingdom (13:43, quoting Daniel 12:3).
So, this is not a once a lifetime event as some people think. It's a daily event and Jesus daily intimate personal relationship with the Father, and it was so wonderful that Moses and Elijah joined in representing Jesus was having a good time connecting to the Law and the prophets. I don't want to go into details to argue what does that mean. Well, we can't talk to Moses and Elijah but Jesus can, right?
What a contrast, one moment showing how Peter was connecting into Satan's dark trap and gimmick to misunderstand the meaning of the Cross, the other moment, six days later showing how Jesus was shining because of his intimate personal relationship with the Father, and perhaps it was a daily event, Jesus daily devotion!
Do you want to be pulled into darkness or connect into Jesus source of power to enjoy the light of being with Jesus each day is your personal choice!
Choose it wisely!
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Connect into Jesus' source of power!
What I received from Jesus today is an invitation to follow his daily routine and lifestyle to be with God. That's how he was shining and that's why Moses and Elijah were also shining!
1 John 1: 5 says - God is light, in him there is no darkness at all.
How sad it is that people choose to stay in darkness each day and not being with the Light! They don't know what they have missed!
I do hope and pray that you won't miss this daily wonderful time to be in the light and that your life can reflect that radiant light of Jesus each day because you cherish the daily intimate personal relationship with Him just like He with the Father!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to spend more time with you each day that our lives can reflect the brightness of you each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
