Bible Study

Today's passage give us a confirmation of what I got yesterday. The importance of waiting for the Holy Spirit, to be filled by the Holy Spirit and receive the fresh anointing for the Holy Spirit(Luke 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit). Here Jesus read the passage from Isaiah 61:1:
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.

Isaiah prophesied seven hundred years ago that the first thing concerning with the coming Messiah was that he was going to be filled by the Holy Spirit and being anointed by the Holy Spirit to do God's Kingdom ministry to those whose spirits were ready. That's the meaning of "the poor".

But, the people from Jesus own town were not ready, they were not "the poor", poor in spirit! Are you the poor? Do you admit that you are a sinner and are poor in spirit? If you are, then you have a better chance to be free from your bondage, to be able to see, to be released from all kinds of pressure and to be loved by God! Then, you will be filled by the Holy Spirit and to be anointed by the Holy Spirit to help other people to experience the freedom you have experienced!

    Are you free?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: First thing first! Wait for the Holy Spirt!

What I received today from Jesus is a very important confirmation of what I got yesterday. Jesus knew it too well that even He had to wait for the Holy Spirit before doing anything. That's why He did not performed any miracle before He was full of the Holy Spirit as recored in Luke 4:1. His reading the prophesy of Isaiah also confirmed this important secret of his power and authority.

That's why he told His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit before doing anything in Acts 1:4:
"Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.  For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

So, first thing first, you need to wait for the Holy Spirit each day. Wait until you receive the fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit and then you can do what Jesus Christ calls you to do. If you do not equip with the filling and the fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit, no matter how much you equip yourself, sooner or later you are going to burn out!

First thing first! Wait for the Holy Spirit!

Dear Holy Spirit,
Fill us now and lead us to seek for your fresh anointing everyday so that we are able to do God's Kingdom work.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
