Bible Study

      Paul spent only one or two days in each of the cities during his first missionary journey. Then during his second missionary journey he had a few days in Philippi, a few weeks in Thessalonica, a day or two in Beroea, a few days in Athens, then 18 months in Corinth. During his third missionary journey, he stayed in Ephesus for two years established the hall of Tyrannus. 

     What have you observed in these three different stages? From a two-men band, to raising up a few apprentices, to training lots of leaders in a school for Evangelists. And, you need to know that in the next ten years, most of the well-trained Evangelists were from this school.

     How long have you been a Christian? How many years of solid training do you have? Why do you think Paul changed his strategy? 
                                    
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

    What I heard from Jesus today is: You need two years of solid training

    There are too many Christians who are just like babies, never grow up. To get a driving license, you need to take the reading test, then you need to practice driving with a driving tutor, then you need to take the road test and more. To become an adult you need to go to Primary School, High School, College. But to be a Christian, you do not need to have any solid training. Is that a joke? Do you know the consequence of not being properly trained? Do you know the consequence of not being properly trained as a pilot? That's what happened to the San Francisco plane crash a few days ago. Lack of training! People die!

    You need at least two years of solid training according to Paul's strategy. Go and start your two years of solid training before it's too late! 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to start our two years of solid training following Paul's example. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
