Bible Study

      Today's passage gives us a picture of what does it means by a mature Christian following Paul's example in a practical sense. Before Paul starts his main message, he introduces himself(v.1), his calling(vv.2-7) and his character as an example of a mature Christian. We can see there are nine characters:
1. Always thanking God (v.8)
2. Always witnessing God(v.9)
3. Always serving God(v.9)
4. Always praying to God(v.10)
5. Always obedient to God(v.10)
6. Always accountable to each others (vv.11-12)
7. Always purpose driven (v.13)
8. Always responsible (v.14)
9. Always prepared to preach the Gospel (v.15)

    Can you check with these nine characters to see how mature you are now. 
                                    
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

     What I heard from Jesus today is: Character of a mature Christian

    What I got today from Jesus is a spiritual check-up. Every Christian thinks he or she is a good Christian. Every Christian wants to be a mature Christian, right?

     Paul wants to tell us how we can make that happen. So, how are you doing? 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to live out those nine characters according to Paul's good example so that we can honour your Name and extend your Kingdom.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
