Bible Study
      After Paul gives a list of names consisting of faithful Christians supporting him, he give a warning to the Christians in Rome to keep away from the false teachers.

       Those are the people who cause divisions and create obstacles in their way from the genuine teaching they have learned.  Those people like to use smooth talks and flattery to deceive the naive. 

       So, are you one of those naive? Do you have false teachers around you deceiving you to cause division in your church? 



Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

    What I heard from Jesus today is: Keep away from those false teachers

   What I got from Jesus today is a warning for us to watch out for those false teachers. You may think that you do not have any false teacher around you. But, think, for the past few years, do you have anyone coming to you spreading news that divide your own church?  For the past few years, has your church suffered from discord causing disunity? Do you know who did that? They are the false teachers! Get away from them so that your church have a better chance to be in unity. Don't waste your time thinking that you can change those people. Use your time to build up those who are faithful, available and teachable.  

     On the other hand, most of the time we are timid and play a silent mode when we face with those separatists. But, if you have the courage to stand up and confront them, your church has the best chance to be in unity. 

     Remember, "The rise of evil is because good men doing nothing." (A quote from the movie "The Fall of Hitler") 

     
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to know when to keep away from those who divide our church and when to have the courage to confront them.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
