Bible Study

     Paul talks about how to have a good marriage in yesterday's passage. He then talks about the problem of divorce:
1. A message to those who have been married but now aren't.
2. A message for married people.
3. A message for people who are being married to non-Christians.

     Paul urges people to respect their marriages as holy and should not get divorce. Even when someone becomes a Christian. Bishop Wright give us a clear and wonderful  explanation on this issue.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
     As with Jesus' healings, in which he touched lepers and other unclean people and, instead of being infected with their diseases, infected them instead with God's new life, so Paul believed that holiness could be more powerful than uncleanness.

      Have you thought of that? Christians can infect their non-Christian spouse with God's new life so that they will become Christians. Is that wonderful!

    What I heard from Jesus today is: Infect your non-Christian spouse with God's new life

    What I got from Jesus today is such a hopeful and powerful message especially to those Christians whose spouses are not Christians. I have seen quite a number of good examples demonstrate what Bishop Wright says happens.

     Yes, instead of being infected by their "disease" of not being in Jesus, we can infect them with God's new life. Of course, we need to show that new life to them in our daily living. If we can't, then in times, we might be infected by their non-believe to leave our faith. 
   
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to infect our non-Christian spouse with God's new life so that they can become Christians.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
