Bible Study

Yesterday we talked about whether you have seen the risen Lord. I do not know how you answer that question. But, even you have seen Jesus quite often, is that enough? Well, this passage try to ask another question:
Are you willing to be put under Jesus?

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
The resurrection of Jesus was the moment when the one true God appointed the man through whom the whole cosmos would be brought back into its proper order.  A human being had got it into this mess; a human being would get it out again.

N.T. Wright. Paul for Everyone:1 Corinthians. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.212.

So, no matter who we are under, if we are not willing to be put under Jesus, we would be in a mess. Only Jesus can put us into order, the right order. Only Jesus can pull us out from the mess that the one man, Adam had put us into. Are you in a mess or in order?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

What I heard from Jesus today is: Are you willing to be put under Jesus?

What I got from Jesus today is a question most people do not want to hear. In reality, we are being put under lots of people. Head of our country, our boss and many other people who are on top of us. Or, if you are well off and in high rank or you own your company, then many are under you, but still you are under someone. Anyway, no matter who we are under, most Christians are not under Jesus. Why? Very simple, if there are under 10% or even 5% of Christians are having daily devotion, and many of those are having daily devotion because of guilty, duty or study, how can we say we are willing to be put under Jesus? It is just a joke!

Jesus is asking you earnestly today, "Are you willing to be put under me?" What is your answer to your Lord and King?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to worship you as our Lord and King and be willing to be under your total authority so that we won't be in a mess. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
