Bible Study

Today we come to a relational message after seven chapters of step by step revelation of who Jesus, the Messiah really is.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
Jesus is the Messiah, God's son, superior to angels and hence to the law; he is the truly human being, and he offers the true 'rest' which goes far beyond what the Israelites were expecting after the Exodus. In fact, as Messiah, he is the true high priest, who has accomplished what the ancient priesthood was never able to.
Now, as a result of all this, we see that in him God has fulfilled one of the most central and vital promises of all: he has established, in Jesus, the new covenant spoken of by Jeremiah(Jer. 31: 31-34).

I am still thinking of yesterday's "big catch" when I read today's passage. If you have not read or listened to yesterday's blog/podcast, please do so now. Why? Because I have a major paradigm shift from "listen and obey" to "worship and obey". That's why, and you really need to know what is the difference. Are you in that "worship and obey" relationship with God as described in today's passage?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Worship and obey

The message I got from Jesus today is a message to deepen what I have got yesterday. Please read today's passage carefully and you will find out there are so many important relational descriptions to the New Covenant:

I will put my laws into their minds,
and write them on their hearts,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
11 And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor
and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
for they shall all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.

This is a truly "worship and obey" relationship. Are you in this kind of daily intimate personal relationship with your Lord and King? If those hundreds of dignities had a kind of most respected and obedience attitude to their Queen by waiting for her arrival at least one hour before, what should be our attitude to our Heavenly King, King of kings and Lord of lords?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to worship and obey you as our King and our Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
