Bible Study

Peter calls us to get rid of those licentious behaviour like the pagans. We really need to live our lives for God and we should not waste our time any more.

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

Nothing is to be gained from licentious and lawless behaviour.  It merely wastes the time you could have been growing as a human being, discovering more about how God's love can transform your life and that of those around you.  That' after all, is what you are here for (verse 8-11): there is plenty to occupy any Christian in reflecting God's love to others, in using to his glory the gifts we have been given.  In particular, the positive, outgoing act of love is the most creative thing in the world.

N.T. Wright. The Early Christian Letters for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.84-85.

How can you help those who are still living in licentious behaviour to get out of that and become true disciples of Jesus? Are you still living in some kind of licentious behaviour?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: That's enough! No more licentious behaviour!

The message I got from Jesus today is a warning to us if we are living in that kind of licentious behaviour. If we are not, then it is an invitation to us to rescue those who can not get away from those licentious behaviour.

Just as Peter says, "The end of all things is near." Don't waste you time!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to waste our time and be able to live our lives according to your will. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
