Bible Study

With all the messages and prophecies in the previous 21 chapters we come to this last passage of Revelation. Only one message from Jesus Himself to John, to you and me. And, that message is "I am coming soon!"

When you are in a movie theatre looking at the posters or watching movie trailers, "coming soon" means coming soon. The latest would be in a few months time. But, Jesus "Coming soon" has been two thousand years already. How does Jesus "Coming soon" means to you? Does that have any effect on your daily living and your lifestyle?

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

Coming soon! That had been the hope of Israel for many a long year, before ever John saw Patmos, indeed before Jesus opened his eyes to the frosty light of a Bethlehem morning.  Malachi, four hundred years earlier, had warned the bored and careless priests that 'the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his Temple'.  He will come!  Ezekiel had described the glory of the Lord abandoning the Temple to its fate (Ezekiel 10.18-19; 11.22-23), but Ezekiel had also promised that he would come back once the Temple had been properly restored (43.1-5)
These words are trustworthy and true (verse 6).  God's blessing on the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book(verse 7), on those who keep the words of this book (verse 9).  Don't seal up the words of the prophecy of this book (verse 10).  To everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book…if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy…which are described in this book (verses 18-19).  These words. This prophecy.  This book
And, when you are ready, join in. 'The spirit and the bride say, "Come!"...
Come to the waters. There is still time.  Come and take the water of life, freely
     Amen!  Come, Lord Jesus.

After knowing what would happen to this fragile world through the book of Revelation, are you willing to say Amen? Are you willing to say to Jesus with a longing heart, "Come, Lord Jesus!"?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

What I receive from Jesus today is the respond Jesus would like us to make after reading the book of Revelation. Seeing all those horrible things would come one day without any warning, do you think you still can say "Amen" to that?

Do you believe that if God allows something bad to happen, there is a reason, and in God's time, everything will be well? Please be careful to listen to what I just said and you need to understand that. It is usually not your time, but God's time. God's time may mean many years after you died! Do you still have that faith trusting in God and to say "Amen"?

No, I don't think so. Only if you can say "Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!". Why? What's the difference?

Only the coming of Jesus each day to be with you that you can go through all those crisis and disasters that we cannot handle?

Only the daily being with Jesus and allow Jesus to use you to build up your home church can you be in a supporting system that Satan can't jam in to destroy you and your church.

Some people have a kind of misunderstand about my point of the importance of having a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus. They think that if they are having daily devotion, a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus and they do not need to have a home church. They do not need to go to church on Sunday, or for Emmanuel 330, on Wednesday. They do not need to serve in their home church. No, that's wrong!

If you say you are having daily devotion, having a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus and do not have to go to a church and sacrifice everything you have to build up your home church, then you are only lying to yourself! Why? Because if you really have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus, then you will surely have your home church and love your home church as Jesus loves His bride, the Church. Without a home church, Satan can get you in an instance!

Let say "Amen" to that and say "Come, Lord Jesus!"
Jesus is Lord! Amen! Come Lord Jesus!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for leading us as our Saviour, Lord and King. Lead us each day that we can build up your body, our own home church. Open our eyes to know we need to be connected to all the supporting systems that our home church can give to us so that we can get through all those unexpected crisis in our lives and we still can trust you saying, "Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!"  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
