Today's passage gives us the first day and the first work God does. He speaks and light comes.

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

The answer to the question of how God brought about a transformation from waste to cosmos is that God simply spoke.  "God said 'Light!' - and light came into being."  There is a decisive power about God's word.  God is like the movie director who demands "Light!" and light shines out.  God too, only has to say a word and something happens.  Or God is like a magician snapping a finger, and something extraordinary happens.  Bringing things into being at creation was quite effortless and met with no opposition.  God just spoke, and it came about.

John Goldingay. Genesis for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.9-10.

This dark world has been leading so many people into darkness, discouragement, depression, lifeless and mental breakdown. Sometimes we really don't understand why those people can't have a little bit more hope, more light and more life? Where does the light come from?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Let God speaks, light comes

What I receive from Jesus today is a very important way to live a life full of light. I have seen too many people tried all kinds of ways like listening to music, hiking, exercising, relaxing, seeing all kinds of doctors and more, but they are still living in darkness. Are you one of those people or are there some people you know like that?

Today's passage tells us there is a easier, simpler and more direct way to let light comes back to life. What is it?

Let God speaks. What does that mean? That's beyond whether you are willing to open your Bible each day and read God's Word. That's all about your willingness to be with God's Word each day and your true and intimate relationship with God so that He really can speak to you, mostly through the Bible and then other ways.

If you are in darkness, don't worry, let God speaks, light will come soon.

If one or some of your relatives and friends are in darkness, you need to pray. Ask God to tell you how you can help those people to let Him speaks. And, share the joy with them when light comes back and darkness gone!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to open the Bible each day to be with you, waiting for you to speak to us so that we can live in light and not darkness each day.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
