Bible Study

Today's passage gives us a new and powerful way to look at our sufferings and hard time. Have you experienced blessings, new beginning and promises became a reality after sufferings and hard time?

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

You could say Genesis invites us to look for the rainbow in the rain and see the promise it makes for the world as a whole.  Until I thought about Genesis 9, I don't know that I had ever thought about the obvious fact that the word "rainbow" combines the words "rain" and "bow".  The rainbow's shape is indeed that of a weapon of war, but it is a weapon God has put aside
In effect, by bringing the flood God made war on humanity.  God now says, "But I am now putting down my weapon of war."  Indeed, God is turning it into something beautiful.  Whenever a rainbow appears, it will remind God of the commitment never again to devastate the world.

John Goldingay. Genesis for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.117.

What have you got from today's message? If you are in suffering, don't worry, God's promise will come soon.

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Trace the rainbow through the rain

The message I receive from Jesus today gives me lots of memory. Jesus leads me to trace all my most painful and difficult moments just a few minutes ago, all of those moments led me to be more closer to God and to experience God's special promises. Not a single one turned out to be a tragedy. Thank you Lord Jesus!

Why don't you kneel down now and let the Holy Spirit to help you to trace the rainbow through the rain, all those time of hardship so that you know those promises also happened to you?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for allowing those hard times to happen to us so that we can trace the rainbow through the rain. Help us to be more closer to you each day so that one day when heavy rain comes we have faith to know that your promise will be at hand. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
