OT DAY 155 - Fear of God Keeps You Away from Sinning (請按此處收聼廣東話 )

On Feb. 18 Ash Wednesday(first day of Lent), I am going to put my newly revised 40 days Break.Build blog and podcast to this blog and podcast for 40 days. This is to encourage you to find one to two friends to be their discipler to walk with them for 40 days having daily devotion. Hopefully they can establish a lifestyle to have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus from then on. There will be a blog written in Chinese that I have never tried before. Please pray for this 40 days Break.Build and be willing to be raised up by our Lord Jesus Christ to be one of the disciplers to lead people to Him daily.

Let us praise the Lord:

Blessed be God,
because he has not rejected my prayer
or removed his steadfast love from me!

Bible Study

Imagine the scene in today's passage. Right after Moses told the Israelites about the Ten Commandments, a powerful and mighty scene appeared. But, what those Israelites received was a fearful and scary scene.

So, Moses told them not to be afraid and explained to them that the fearful and scary scene is for them as a test and if they have the fear of God they will be able to keep away from sinning.

If we have no fear of God, we'll keep on sinning. Is that true? Why do most people have no fear of God now? What's the consequence of no fear of God?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. The title I heard from Jesus today is: Fear of God keeps you away from sinning

What I receive from Jesus today is a call for us to think of today's theme: Fear of God keeps you away from sinning. Not only to think but to live that out.

If you were there when God was showing off His mighty power, would you be so frightened and did not want to do anything with God? Or, you have got a new level to trust God because He is so powerful and mighty, and you won't live a life keep on sinning but to be holy under His power and mighty protection?

Which way would you choose?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to experience your mighty great power that we will choose not keep on sinning but to be under your protection and blessings daily. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
