Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
        For God is the King of all the earth;
                          sing praises with a psalm!
                             Psalm 47:6-7

Confession and repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Exodus 35:1-29)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus 35&version=ESV

Then all the congregation of the people of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.21 And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him, and everyone whose spirit moved him, and brought the Lord's contribution to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments. 22 So they came, both men and women. All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the Lord. 23 And every one who possessed blue or purple or scarlet yarns or fine linen or goats' hair or tanned rams' skins or goatskins brought them. 24 Everyone who could make a contribution of silver or bronze brought it as the Lord's contribution. And every one who possessed acacia wood of any use in the work brought it. 25 And every skillful woman spun with her hands, and they all brought what they had spun in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen.26 All the women whose hearts stirred them to use their skill spun the goats' hair. 27 And the leaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set, for the ephod and for the breastpiece, 28 and spices and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. 29 All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord.

                                                   Exodus 35:20-29

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
After the Israelites witnessed God's presence with Moses and Moses' shining face, they obeyed everything Moses told them to do.

This passage is perhaps one of a few passages in the Bible showing how people of God are willing to offer whatever they have to God. It is not easy for God's people to do that because human beings are always so selfish and disobedience. I notice there are three steps to have this wonderful offering in unity happened:
1. They witness the presence and power of God
2. They are willing to do so
3. Their hearts are being moved by God to do so

Lacking any one of the three cannot make this kind of offering in unity happen.

What I receive from Jesus today is to ask you one question:
Are you willing to bring to the Lord offerings for all the work the Lord commands your church to do?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Open our hearts to count your blessings that we are moved by you to make our offerings to you that the work you command us to do may be completed.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1.  How do you understand and experience the three steps? What has that to do with you?

2.  Are you willing to bring to the Lord offerings for all the work the Lord commands your church to do?

Praise and Thanksgiving
