Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

       The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;
to one who orders his way rightly
I will show the salvation of God!”
                             Psalm 50:1

Confession and repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Exodus 40:1-38)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus 40&version=ESV

And he erected the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work. 34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
                                              Exodus 40: 33-35

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Yesterday we read how the Israelites followed what the Lord commanded Moses and completed all the work for the Tabernacle. When I did a recount in chapter 39 of the repeated sentences "as the Lord commanded Moses", it is not nine times but ten times.

Here in the last chapter of Exodus, Moses did what the Lord commanded him to do. And, the repeated sentences of "as the Lord commanded him", it is eight time.

The most important moment came when it says "And so Moses finished the work"(v. 33). Wow! The glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

Yesterday at around 7:10p.m. Toronto time, there was a bright rainbow covering Vintage Garden and Toronto Emmanuel Church new building. It appeared only for around ten minutes. But, Dr. S.K. Lee(chairman of the Board of Vintage Garden) took photos, Rev. Edmund Ho took photos (Rector of Toronto Emmanuel Church), and I was there taking photos not know Dr. Lee and Rev. Ho took photos on two different locations. They should be inside the building not being able to see the rainbow but they saw that. I was leaving Vintage Garden to the other side across the road and I was amazed at the brightness of that rainbow. It seems that God called all three of us to see that rainbow as a sign of His smile and blessing. And, a similar situation as in today's passage of how the glory of God filled God's work when it is completed.

May I share with you some more pictures of Vintage Garden I took today, especially the rainbow!

What I receive from Jesus to you today is the last verse of Exodus:

For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.        Exodus 40:38

Use everything you have to complete the work God commands you to do. When it is completed, He will have a way for you to see His glory and the presence of God will be forever with you whenever you go.

May God encourages you today just as how He encouraged us yesterday!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Give us strength to complete the work you command us to do. We want to see your glory.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1.  Do you think we can be able to see God's glory like what I shared?

2. When was the last time you see God's glory? If you have not yet seen God's glory, what do you think you are lacking?

3.  Do you know what is the work God commands you to do(you need to know that needs not to be a big project as Vintage Garden, it can be as small as to change your bad temper, to cut down your expenses, to have true daily devotion, to complete with someone 40 days of Break.Build daily devotion etc.) ?

Praise and Thanksgiving
Let's give thanks for God with us. Let us praise Him:
