Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

He led them by a straight way
till they reached a city to dwell in.
Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things.

         Psalm 107:7-9

Confession and Repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Joshua 2:4-11 that I recited loudly today)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua 2&version=ESV

Before the men lay down, she came up to them on the roof and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. 10 For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you devoted to destruction. 11 And as soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for the Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.   Joshua 2:8-11

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Wow! A surprising and striking message I received from Jesus today! Actually I am trembling now to deliver this message to you. A trembling before the presence of God here with me in my study! And I am kneeling down to podcast this message now. The first time I am kneeling down to podcast with lots of tears!

So, Joshua and his people got their final confirmation. Do you think so? Anyway, reason for the procrastination of the Israelites for almost 40 years to enter into the Promised Land is just one word "FEAR"! Even God showed them so many miracles and mighty acts, they cannot get through their fear of their first block - the mighty people of the city of Jericho.

Can you imagine what would the two spies felt when they heard from Rahab the word "FEAR"? Can you imagine what would Joshua and all the Israelites heard the word "FEAR"? Now they got their final confirmation they so needed for 40 years, two words - "NO FEAR"!

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

Canaan comprises a collection of city-states, each with its "king" (or sheriff or mayor, you could say), and each controlling the area around it. They are independent of one another, but in Joshua's day they are under Egyptian control. Evidently the sheriff knows all about the Israelites hovering on the other side of the Jordan. Rahab's declaration that the city is paralyzed by the prospect of the Israelites storming across the river any day might be an exaggeration, but the sheriff knows he cannot ignore them, and he has deputies deeming an eye open for suspicious-looking strangers, one of whom will be on permanent stakeout duty across the street from Rahab's establishment. Rahab shares the sheriff's assessment of the situation but reacts to it differently.

Why God did not give them this word sooner? Why they need to procrastinate for 40 years? Well, sometimes we need to learn some hard lesson in order to overcome our fear, even God has shown His many confirmations! "Fear" or "no fear" is you choice!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be sure each day that you are with us and we are willing to be with you so that we have no fear to cross any river you command us to cross.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Are you waiting for the final confirmation to cross the river God is calling you to cross? Have you got your final confirmation to stop procrastinating and just go?

2. What have you got from Jesus today?
