Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence

2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile

2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

       This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
          and saved him out of all his troubles.

         The angel of the Lord encamps

           around those who fear him, and delivers them.

          Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
            Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin, but he walked in them.12 Now the rest of the acts of Joash and all that he did, and the might with which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel? 13 So Joash slept with his fathers, and Jeroboam sat on his throne. And Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

    My Listening

          The only thing the Bible talks about King Jehoash is how bad he is as he follows the sins of Jeroboam and then his death. That's it!

           Yes, that's it! How sad!
           Can you imagine that? When people leave God and live in sinful lives, there is nothing worth to mention in God's eyes and then the only record is the passing away.
           May we follow Jesus each day that we have lots of good things to mention in God's eyes and that we are in God's favor!
    

    Dear Lord Jesus,
    Lead us to follow you and that we can show forth your goodness to glorify your Holy Name.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

    Reflect on these questions:

    1. How do you feel the sadness if we have nothing to worth mentioning of our lives?

2. How can we leave evil and be good?

    3. What have you got from Jesus today?
