Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening

The message I got today from our Lord Jesus Christ is "Come, follow me! Depression out!".

If you have experienced what today's Psalm 3:1-8 says of how powerful God is with you as your Deliverer when your enemies thinks even God will not deliver you, then you should not be captured by depression at all!

Today's Genesis passage shows us because of how Noah chose to follow God, his willingness to listen and obey to something no other person on earth did, his whole family was being saved and received a "covenant for all generations to come".

So, there should be no problem after that. Human beings should be able to enjoy the promise and mandate of God to Adam and Eve as God gave the purpose of life to Noah and his sons once again after He gave to Adam and Eve thousands of years ago.

Not so, the scaring thing is that this protection and glory started to wither after the coming out of Nimrod as a mighty warrior. Nimrod's mighty power came with the birth of Babylon, Nineveh, Sodom and Gomorrah.

Wow! How do you feel? The top mighty warrior ever came many centres of wickedness! Then tomorrow we will read about the coming of the Tower of Babel! Poor human beings!

Today's Matthew hits right on to the depressed situation thousands of years later of how Isaiah prophesied to the remedy for those who lived in darkness to regain light, a great light. Then the coming of Jesus calling all who are willing to get out of darkness, bondage and depression.

              Jesus says, "Come, follow me!"

We then see the great power of Jesus to heal, free and save!

Today's Proverbs gives us a final call for us to discern who should we follow. To follow Nimrod's path of human mighty power to darkness, wickedness and total destruction, or to follow Jesus into the kingdom of heaven with our repentance because of the rebuke of God so that we can be filled by the Holy Spirit and can receive understanding on the Lord's Word and teaching.

Jesus says, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."

    Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to repent and to follow you so that we can be filled by the Holy Spirit and not being captured by darkness and depression. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

     Reflect on these questions:
    1.  Who and what are you following the past few months? Are you in darkness and sadness or in light, peace and joy?

    2. How can today's message help you to be able to follow Jesus to get rid of darkness and depression?

    3. What have you received from Jesus today?

Let us praise the Lord:
