Be perfect, are you kidding? How can we be perfect? We are far from perfect.

Yes , of course we can't be perfect because we are human beings. But, if you link up the beatitudes( vv. 3-11) to the last verse, you'll get a clue. Jesus is inviting us to enter into a life transformation journey of Christlikeness. To be more like Jesus is to be more like our heavenly Father. Our heavenly Father is perfect so we have a model to imitate that we can love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.

Be perfect, Jesus is not kidding because he is inviting you to follow Him through the beatitudes.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to enter into the journey of the beatitudes that I can be more like you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage those who join our Disciplers 123 to have a place to start their daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus. There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
  1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.

  2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters) to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.

  3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a discipler. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online discipler to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

Today's Reading: Matthew 4

Please click the links below to Matthew 4:

Jesus said, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." Matthew 4: 17

Jesus showed me today the top three traps for Satan to pull us out of the heavenly Kingdom:

1. Pay no attention to God's Word (vv. 3-4)

2. Do not trust God and His servants (vv. 5- 7)

3. Worship other people and things other than God only (vv. 8-10)

All these traps are targeting to every Christian trying to pull us from the heavenly Kingdom. If we fall into any or all of these traps, then what we need to do is to repent so that we can get back to the heavenly Kingdom. And the way to prevent us to step into these top three traps would be:

1. Live on God's Word - real daily intimate personal relationship with God through His Holy Word. Never before in my life have I felt so secure, relax, rested and full of energy since I started to use a lot of time in having a daily intimate personal relationship with God to write this blog and then to have the new blog and two podcast daily. Yes, I need at least two to three hours daily to do that but it seems I gain four to six hours daily. You won't understand until you spend more time with Jesus each day and you'll know what I mean.

2. Trust in God - Trust is a relationship and a major target for Satan to attack. The devil want it so hard to pull you out of that trusting relationship with God and His servants and all source of spiritual support. Once he cut loose of those trust then you are finished!

3. Worship God only - The devil deceives us in worshiping so many people and things. Lots of

Christians worship their pastors but they don't even know God. Lots of Christians worship movie stars, brand names, top positions and everything but never God!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Open our eyes to see those traps and help us not fall into those traps so that we can enjoy your protection and anointing in your Kingdom daily. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Jesus said, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." Matthew 4: 17

What Jesus told me today is the importance of the first thing He and John the Baptist said:

Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near!

As a musician I know that the most important note in a concert is the first note in the beginning of a concert. If we start with an out of tune note or a bad quality note in the beginning of a concert, then the whole concert might be ruined by just that.

If both John the Baptist and Jesus started with the same "note" in the beginning of their ministries, then this "note" must be very important to them and to each one of us. This should be a key of our self examination and a key of our message to others.

What does "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near" means to you today?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that we have things to repent for because we are human beings and far from the standard of the kingdom of heaven. Come Holy Spirit come, fill us that we are being anointed, strengthened and empowered by you that we can be in the kingdom of heaven every day and be able to deliver this message to the others. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

What I received from Jesus today is the importance of the ways in which God appears to you.

In this chapter the importance of God's appearance is a "live or die" issue. There are various ways of God's appearance like using a star to lead, gave out a warning in a dream and actual appearance in a dream.

What about you? How many ways have you experienced God? Have you missed some of those warnings and appearances? How much do you cherish His presence?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for your presence in so many ways. Help us to pay more attention to your presence. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

There are times that we are being stuck with our sins and unable to change. There are times that we know that we need a lifestyle of Christlikeness but we cannot do it. Why?

What I receivd today is that lots of time we forget that only Jesus can save us from our sins; we forget to ask Him to save us from those sins that we are not able to get rid of. Instead we use our own effort to fight and try to change. Hopeless!

Jesus is your only hope! No one can save you but Jesus!

When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home. John 19: 26-27

Jesus led me to look at three pairs of eyes when He said that to John: His eyes, His mother's eyes and John's eyes.

Close your eyes and let the Holy Spirit open your eyes to see that. And now Jesus turns His face to you and asks you the same question. Who are those few people that Jesus asks you to take care of, like John took care of Jesus' mother?

Today Michelle and I joyfully witnessed a miracle comes true. I was invited by the Chairman of the Board of Vintage Garden, Dr. S.K. Lee, to bless the Sales Centre of the 150 million dollars building project of our Toronto Emmanuel Church. How blessed we are that the Lord anointed us to take care of many mothers and fathers in this God-size vision!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Open our eyes to see those faces that you want us to take care of, and give us the strength and patience to continue to do that. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

眷顧有需要的,主會搭救你,為你鋪牀!
