The Lord said to Moses, "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'After you enter the land I am giving you as a home..."

The Lord said to Moses, "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you enter the land to which I am taking you..."

Numbers 15: 1-2, 17-18

What I heard from Jesus today is: Let's start from the beginning again, shall we?

This chapter causes lots of problems to many scholars because there are quite a few theories. Some say that Moses put similar rules here to repeat the importance of those laws. The situation I got from other scholars is quite simple. God gave so many chances for those Israelites to learn listen and obey and they did not get it. So, after 40 years of wondering in the desert God said, "Enough wondering? OK, let's start from the beginning again, shall we?" That's what was happening here. Every rules, requirements and laws were the same, the different is that it was 40 years later!

Do you want to waste 40 years for God to teach you the lesson of listen and obey and then you have to start from the beginning again?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be faithful to you that we can experience the fruit of listen and obey and that we can enter into the Promised Land you prepared for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

"But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it."

Numbers 14: 24

What I heard from Jesus today is: What kind of spirit do you have?

Do you know how many years there are between the end of this chapter and the beginning of next chapter? It is 40 years! And in that 40 years, nothing was being recorded in the Bible! Is that terrible?

Jesus wants me to ask you a question: What kind of spirit do you have?

That's how God told His people about Caleb. The spirit those people had was the spirit of rebellious. But, Caleb had a different, it was the Holy Spirit! That's why Caleb and Joshua told those rebellious people:

"Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them."
Numbers 14: 9

Learn from what Joshua and Caleb said:
1. Do not be control by the spirit of rebellious.
2. No need to be afraid of anyone or anything.
3. God can remove those evil protection of those rebellious people.
4. Do know that God is with you - Emmanuel.

Make sure to be filled by the Holy Spirit each day and in the Spirit each day.
Do know that only if Jesus is your Lord then you can be filled by the Holy Spirit and in the Spirit each day.
Then you will have no fear!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to discern what kind of spirit do we have. Lead us to be filled by the Holy Spirit each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
