What I heard from Jesus today is: If Ephesus could fall, you also will!

I would like you to read Acts 19: 1 - 20: 38 to remind yourself of how Paul established perhaps the strongest church in Early Church and that is the church of Ephesus. Paul, in his second missionary, found the lecture hall of Tyrannus and started the first training school for missionaries. Most of the first batch of missionaries in the Early Church were from this school. You can also see how intimate and close was Paul to the leaders of Ephesus.

But, many years later, John gave them a message to call them to repent because they forsaken their first love. What really happened? What does that means by forsaken of their first love? I am quite sure it means the daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus, the micro stage of discipleship development! I have seen too many clergy and leaders including myself felt into this trap strategically set by the Deceiver. More study, more work, more service, more... might not help you to be more closer to Christ doing His Kingdom work! It's the being not the doing my friend! Don't step into the "doing" trap. With the "being" you will know and bear an example of the "doing". Without the "being" you will become a dangerous weapon to be used by the Deceiver to destroy God's servants and His works! Watch out my dear brothers and sisters!

If the church of Ephesus could fall, you and I are will fall sooner or later unless we do not lose our first love to Jesus!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to love you more day by day that we won't fall like the Ephesians. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

What I heard from Jesus today is: Come and be with Jesus!

Michelle reminded me yesterday when she knew that we are going to start Revelation today, "I remember when I was in the hospital last year I started reading Revelation." Today what I got from our Lord Jesus Christ from this chapter is an invitation to come and be with Jesus as much as you can. For John it was a frightening experience to see Jesu and he was like a dead person fell at Jesus feet. I felt that I need to copy and paste of what I wrote last yea, the fifth day when Michelle was in Vancouver Hospital to save her from leukemia. I pray that when you read what I wrote last April when I and Michelle used Revelation 1 as our daily devotion that day, you'll give thanks to the Lord for how good He is. Not because Michelle is completely healed but for how Jesus was with us all the way through raising up to a new level of our spiritual life and a new and closer relationship with Him.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for your being with us last year in our most difficult time revealing to us that we need not be afraid. Help us to long to be with you each day that we will not be afraid of our unknown future but to be secure in you each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

DAY 239 - May Your Kingdom Come!

Today’s Reading: Revelation 1

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.

There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.

2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.

3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a disciple. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online disciple to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

Please read Revelation 1 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method:Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf . (You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.)

To Jesus Christ who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father - to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. Revelation 1: 5-6

Most Christians are so familiar with the Lord's Prayer and we often say "May your Kingdom come" so easily without thinking whether we really mean it. This morning when I was looking out the window of Michelle's ward at 7a.m. during my daily devotion, I cried out to our Heavenly Father, "May your Kingdom come!" I took a picture of the beautiful scene of the beautiful sunlight showering down the far east side of Vancouver. You can see Vancouver City Hall right in front and the Science Centre on the left hand side. If any bad thing happens to Michelle, do I have the faith to cry out, "May your Kingdom come!" Life is always full of challenges reminding where we really are.

What John was called to tell the seven churches and us can be so simple: The end of the world or the end of your life is coming, where are you? Have your sins be washed by Jesus so that you are in God's Kingdom and Jesus is your Lord? Are you in His Kingdom right now, knowing how to listen and obey to your King? Have you obediently fulfill the call to be 'priests' to bring other people into His Kingdom and serve the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your soul? But, is that really so simple? Scholars for centuries have been trying their best to solve the "code" of the book of Revelation. Thinking that if they can solve it, then they can know the future. If you are in a true daily relationship with Jesus, then the present is so intimate and the future is so secure. May your Kingdom come!

Michelle is "so far so good" today. She had a better appetite than the other four days in the hospital. She completed the three days chemo "Daunorubicin", still on the seven days chemo "Cytarabine" and the new medicine "Atra" invented in 1994 by a Chinese person. The chemo and Atra makes her very tired and sleepy. We tried to watch Sam Hui's classic "The Private Eyes - boon gun bat leung" but she could only watched for 20 minutes! May your Kingdom come! May your Will be done! Wow, this is the biggest challenge of my life! I need all your prayers!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for being our King to lead us through the valley of the shadow of death. Help Michelle and I to fear no evil for you are with us! May your Kingdom come! May your Will be done! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
