Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7: 23-25
What I heard from Jesus today is: Follow Jesus' example to intercede!
Yesterday Jesus gave me a vivid and wonderful picture to enter into the inner sanctuary following Him. An hour later after I recorded the podcast I was in the Sanctuary of Richmond Emmanuel Church receiving a vision confirmed by Lillian Mak and Brenda Choi. As more and more people of our church willing to come to our weekly prayer meeting Jesus invites us to enter into a deeper level to intercede and be intercessors.
Two hours later we had our monthly Young Clergy and Youth Pastors gathering and coaching. We went inside the inner sanctuary, cleared things away and made a simple and anointed place for people to pray. Four youth pastors and I led the first wave of prayers and then Priscilla and Margaret Kelly and me led the second wave of prayers after I bought a carpet and seven kneeling pads.
This chapter talks about the superior position of Jesus as a Priest and King who intercede for us daily in heaven. Let's enter into the inner sanctuary with Jesus no matter it is a place in your church or a place in your heart to follow Jesus' example to intercede. Rev. Ed Hird's church is going to have a weekly prayer meeting starting this coming Saturday at 9a.m., the same time as people of Richmond Emmanuel Church. Praise the Lord that we are building up a momentum to pray and when people are willing to pray and follow Jesus' example to intercede, everything will happen according to God's perfect will!
It is so difficult to invite people to our weekly prayer meeting because most Christians do not understand why they need to do so. They pray in their small groups and they pray in Sunday worship. So, why bother to come one more time to pray? Jesus gave me an answer three months ago after I asked Him for quite some time. He said, "People have many reasons to join a small group or to come to Sunday worship. But, there is only one reason to go to a weekly prayer meeting. The reason is they believe in the power of prayers and willing to pray!" Praise the Lord that we have a 100% increase to our weekly prayer meeting since three months ago from less than 15 people to now around 35 people. From one group to now three groups on Saturday at nine and two locations, in Richmond and also in Vancouver, Andrew and Lucy's home.
Let's not talk the talk but walk the walk to follow Jesus' example to enter into the inner sanctuary and pray, pray, and pray!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to follow your example to intercede and be a intercessor. In Jesus name we pray.Amen.
