Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. 1 Peter 4: 1

The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 1 Peter 4: 7-9

What I heard from Jesus today is: Pray, love, hospitality!

I preached at Rev. Dr. David Bowler's church, the Church of our Lord, in Comox, Vancouver Island. Praise to the Lord that I had a deep sharing with one of his parishioner Judy who has been in deep suffering. She inspired me to receive these two lines from the Lord:

How can we care for people in suffering if we have not experienced suffering?

How can God give us a perfect life when we are not living in a perfect world?

Peter says the end of all things is near. No one knows when the end will be but we are being warned since the time of the Early Church. We need to cherish every moment as we live and live out three things according to Peter in this chapter: Pray, love and show hospitality.

I think that's the spirit of Alpha program and a way to be a good steward of Christ(v. 10).

How well do you pray, love and show hospitality? Are you a good steward of Christ?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to pray, to love and to show hospitality to all people. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
