Not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 1 Peter 5: 3

What I heard from Jesus today is: Who's lording?

Who's lording your life? You, Jesus or Satan? Who's lording others life? You?

Peter wanted to remind the elders, who are pastors today, not lording their parishioners but be a good example of others to follow.

I have seen lots of examples of this kind of lording others happened in various churches. Pastors are lording and enslaving others. Pride is the top No. 1 sin in the list of the seven deadly sins. Peter reminds us to be humble so that we can cast all the anxiety on Jesus because He cares for us. Peter also warns us to be self-controlled and alert not lording others because Satan wants us to lording us in the same ways he wants us to lording others so that Jesus can not be our Lord!

Remember, Jesus is Lord, not you.

Don't lording your wife, don't lording your husband, don't lording your children, don't lording other people. Be a good example that you are a faithful disciple of Christ.

Jesus is Lord!

Dear Lord Jesus,

You are our Lord! Help us not lording others anymore but be willing to under your Lordship. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
