DAY 141 (2017) - Don't Miss Your Last Chance (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

      My Listening
The assignment from the Lord to me today is  "Don't miss your last chance".

Today passages give me a deep sorrow of knowing how King Saul missed his last chance.

We see it clearly that from today's Psalm that God is the One who will never forsake us, but we are usually the one who forsake God. That's how Samuel told Saul that "the Lord had departed from you" because Saul did not listen, even listened but not obey.

What we can see in David's listen and obey is another story. He could have a chance to kill Saul, in fact two chances, but he was very sure that God will act and he does not need to.

When I finished reading today's passages, I was thinking, "Could God give Saul another chance if he repented?" The answer is YES, just like Judah, if Saul and Judah repented, they would get saved and changed. That's how Peter repented and being changed into who Peter really is!

             Don't miss you last chance!
Tell those who God prepares you to tell, "Don't miss you last chance!"

      Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to miss those opportunities to return to you and not departing from you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

    Reflect on these questions:

     1. Have you thought of Saul would not have died like that before?

2. How can you not miss God's last chance and help those who God prepares for you not to miss their last chance?

     3. What have you got from Jesus today?

      My Listening
The assignment from the Lord to me today is  "God is the Avenger, not us".

Today passages give us a warning and an encouraging  from our Lord Jesus Christ that He is the One to avenge but not any one of us.

Could you understand the power of God protecting David from Saul's  pursuing and killing and how God acted on Nabal who insulted David. David did not act on both people trusting that God will act.

But, this world view is not that! People are thinking all day of avenging to those who insulted and hurt them pulling them to the darkness of anger, hatred, despair, hopeless and death!

Don't worry! God knows! You need to enter into that relationship as describes by Jesus yesterday and today in John 10. Jesus' sheep know and listen to His voice. He leads, we follow, listen and obey, then He will act and avenge in His own way and time.

      Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to experience what David and you experienced and trusting that you will act and avenge because you are our Help and Deliverer. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

    Reflect on these questions:

      1. Have you thought of avenging to those who insulted and hurt you? What is the result of that kind of mentality?

2. How can you be encouraged by today's message that God will avenge for you in His own way and time?

     3. What have you got from Jesus today?
