DAY 36 (2018) - Why the love of most grow cold nowadays? (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening

The message I got today from our Lord Jesus Christ is "Why the love of most grow cold nowadays?".

Lots of people are wondering why the love of so many grow cold nowadays. It seems there there are more and more people turning away from the faith, not only Christianity, but all kinds of faith by only believing in themselves. Actually that is also a faith, a religion, "Believe in Me"!

Leaders are betraying and hating each other, churches have more and more problems and more and more people just respond by saying:
     I don't care!

Why? Well, that's what Jesus said in today's Matthew:
"At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.

If you think there is a way to turn this crisis right side up, I can tell you there might not be. Why? Because this may be the real end time and those are the signs of End Time!

               So, what should we do?

I think today's Psalm 20:1-9 gives us a way to go forward. The Psalmist says help and support are from God's temple, the place with God's throne and presence. There are so many promises in today's Psalm and let's claim those promises:
             1. God will answer you, protect you, send you help, support you, give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

             2. The Lord gives victory to His anointed.

What we need to be each day actually is not difficult. Just be "anointed" each day, be with God and not like what it described in today's Proverbs of how young people be drawn to wicked and sinful women  not knowing that "it will cost him his life (Proverbs 7:23)".

What's your choice? To have your love and heart grow cold or to be anointed each day that the Lord gives victory to you!

       Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to be with you each day so that our love won't grow cold. Amen.

     Reflect on these questions:
   1.  Do you think the love of most people are growing more and more cold nowadays?

    2.  How can you get rid of this "growing cold" culture and be anointed each day by the Holy Spirit to do God's mighty work?

     3. What have you received from Jesus today?

Let us praise the Lord:
