Bible in one year by Nicky Gumbel:

Nicky Gumbel's Bible in one year today:

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Sing a song to praise God (you are welcome to use "Father, I adore you" which I have been singing every morning for the past 20 years or your own choice to praise God)

          Father, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
          Jesus, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
          Spirit, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method https://bishopsilas.blogspot.com/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

           "Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.

             Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.

             Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

    Time with Abba passages: (Psalm 107:23-32, Isaiah 62:6-65:25;  Philippians 2:19-3:4; Proverbs 24:13-14)

    Today's key passage:

       Some went out on the sea in ships;
    they were merchants on the mighty waters.
     They saw the works of the Lord,
    his wonderful deeds in the deep.
For he spoke and stirred up a tempest
    that lifted high the waves.
They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths;
    in their peril their courage melted away.
They reeled and staggered like drunkards;
    they were at their wits’ end.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
    and he brought them out of their distress.
He stilled the storm to a whisper;
    the waves of the sea were hushed.
They were glad when it grew calm,
    and he guided them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
    and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people
    and praise him in the council of the elders.

Psalm 107:23-32

    Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.

    My Listening
    The topic I received today from Jesus  is Sailors do not fear storm, they have seen the saving act of God!

    I feel a great relief and comfort through today's Psalm 107:23-32!

    Today's Psalm describes those sailors who have seen lots of big storms that no ship can get away and big waves that no one can get through. But, when they prayed for God to save them, every time they got away because God calmed those storms and waves and they were able to get to the port they planned to!

    So, that's why those sailors who have experienced God's saving act won't be frightened even with big storms and huge waves because God will calm those storms and waves just as what they have experienced before and they can be sure to get to the port they have planned! What they need to do is to cry out to God, to be close to God and to praise God!

    Today's Psalm inspires us of whether we are like those sailors who will not fear any big storm or huge waves because God is with them!

     Do you know how to cry out to God in this big storm of pandemic that you do not live in fear each day but to praise Him and to be more closer to Him each day!

     Dear Lord Jesus,
    Help us to cry out to you in this big storm of pandemic that we will not live in fear each day but to praise you and to be more closer to you each day. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
