“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Then she instructed him to say to Mordecai, 11 “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king.”12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
17 So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther’s instructions.
Esther 4:10-17
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.
My Listening The topic I received today is: You fast, God acts!
Today's 1 Corinthians reminds us that the Holy Spirit gives various gifts to God's children to build up the body of Christ. We need to have faith and courage to use those gifts of the Holy Spirit. That's how Mordecai and Esther used their gift of prophecy to proclaim an absolute fasting for three days of all Jews. This fasting saved all the Jews from annihilation. On the contrary, Haman, the one who wanted to annihilate the Jews was being hanged, Satan's plan to use a bad guy to destroy God's people was being destroyed!
I believe if there are more Christians in this world to respond to God's call to have an Esther Fasting, Satan's plan to make use of COVID-19 to destroy God's world and His children will be destroyed, and God's plan to make use of COVID-19 to call people into repentance and return to Him will be accomplished!
This is why we really need to fast crying out to God. The fasting can be cutting one meal or more a day, or even an absolute fasting, according to how you are being moved by the Holy Spirit. You are welcome to follow brothers and sisters of Richmond Emmanuel Church that we started to have a 100 days fasting on July 1, 2022 and will complete on October 8, 2022, or even a fasting and praying to the end of this year. The most important point is this is a call to fast and pray for the whole world because we might be facing with similar situation as in Esther's time!
Are you willing to follow us to fast and pray? Do you believe that when we fast, God will act in a miraculous way just like in Esther time?
I urge you to fast and pray today for the devastating situation of forest fire in BC and Yellowknife. Thousands and thousands residence have been evacuated in a horrible situation. Pray for God to act to have rain to pour down! Showers of blessings!
Dear Lord Jesus, Help us to know that this is your call to fast and pray for this world and help us to be willing to fast, trusting and experiencing that you will act. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
