“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 118:5-21, Jeremiah 35:1-36:32; 1 Timothy 5:1-25; Proverbs 25:25-27)
When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?The Lord is with me; he is my helper.
I look in triumph on my enemies.It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in humans.It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in princes.All the nations surrounded me,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.They surrounded me on every side,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.They swarmed around me like bees,
but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns;
in the name of the Lord I cut them down.I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the Lord helped me.The Lord is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.
Psalm 118:5-14
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.
My Listening The topic I received today from Jesus is: Do you want to be brought into a spacious space?
Psalm 118 tells God's people to give thanks to the Lord and praise Him to count the blessings of God's saving acts. This Psalm is also the one that the Israelites sang when Jesus entered into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:9, Mark 11:9, Luke 19:38), also this Psalm should be the last hymn that Jesus and His disciples sang in the last supper (Matthew 26:30)!
When we are in the midst of sufferings and darkness, may we be able to sing praises to praise God and to give thanks to His grace and saving acts. May we be willing to take refuge in the Lord and not anyone or anything so that we can experience the strength God gives you.
If we can live out this life of praising and trusting, then God will lead you out of sufferings and darkness, just like the dying and rising of our Lord Jesus Christ and you will be brought into a specious space to enjoy God's greatness and power!
I have a good news to share with you! As you can see at the top of this blog, we received the Building Permit from Richmond City yesterday and we can start our renovation any time now! Our Design and Renovation Committee expected the Building Permit will come at the end of December or even next January. It is a surprise and a gift of joy that we can have the BP less than one month after we submitted the application! We all think that it is because God listened to our fasting and praying that we have 126 brothers and sisters willing to fast one meal a week for a year started on September 10, the day of our 27th Anniversary! Thank you Lord Jesus for your signs and wonders!
Dear Lord Jesus, Help us to be able to sing praise to the Lord as often as we can and to take refuge in you only that we can experience your great power to lead us into a specious space. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
I look in triumph on my enemies.
than to trust in humans.
than to trust in princes.
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns;
in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
but the Lord helped me.
he has become my salvation.
Reflect on these questions: 1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now? 2. What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do? Family Corner: Find an opportunity to share with your family the importance of today's message.
