Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). 13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. 17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.

18 Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days. 19 I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother. 20 I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie.

    Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.    

    My Listening

    The topic I received today from Jesus  is:  Paul needed three years to unlearn so that he could learn what Jesus wanted him to learn!

   Paul wrote Galatians after his first missionary journey and before the Jerusalem Council(Acts 15). Chapter 1 of Galatians is for Paul to share with what happened after his conversion. And, one of the most important experience of Paul was that three years led by the Holy Spirit to be taught by Jesus Christ Himself in the Arabia desert!

    Actually this was an unlearning experience for Paul because he was a Biblical schola as one of the top Pharisees at that time but what he had was knowledge and historical stories of the Israelites. What he did not have was the presence of God and the anointing of the Holy Spirit and because of that he rejected Jesus and wanted to destroy the early Church!

    Have you experienced this unlearning process of your spiritual journey so that you can learn from Jesus as your Lord and King? And, are you still continuing in this spiritual journey?

    What late Archbishop Yong's vision and action of MISSION 113 started in 1993 for two three years term is actually Jesus' plan to train His apostles and disciples, and that's how Paul claimed he was being trained by Jesus for three years even though Jesus already died, resurrected and ascended to heaven. Hope you can join this year's MISSION 113 for the coming three years so that you can unlearn what Jesus wants you to unlearn and learn what Jesus wants you to learn.

   

     Dear Lord Jesus,  

    Help us to continuously experiencing this unlearning process of our spiritual journey so that we can learn from you as our Lord and King.  In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

    Reflect on these questions:

     1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

      

      2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
