Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble. Proverbs 28:14
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.
My Listening The topic I received today from Jesus is: How not to live in fear anymore?
Today's Proverbs 28:14 can help us not to live in fear anymore because we know how to fear God and tremble before the presence of God!
Actually the most important theme in the Old Testament is "Fear God" and the most important theme in the New Testament is "God is love."
To fear God is for us to have that attitude like we go to a king's palace to have the honor to see the king. I think my feet would be shaking and my hands would be shaking too. That's how trembling before God should be. He is the King of all kings and Lord of all lords!
The problem for this post-modern age is that we do not need to fear God and we do not know why we need to fear God. Instead, we fear of no work, no money, no security, sickness, death....
We do not want Jesus to be our King and instead we allow other things to be our kings lording us and pushing us into all kinds of fear!
Let us live out our daily life to fear God and that we won't fear anything or anyone anymore, even death of course!
Dear Lord Jesus, Help us to truly worship you and fear you that we won't live in fear any more. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions: 1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now? 2. What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
