Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence

2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile

2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

3.   Sing a song to praise God (you are welcome to use "Father, I adore you" which I have been singing every morning for the past 20 years or your own choice to praise God)

          Father, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method https://bishopsilas.blogspot.com/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

    Today's passage:

   

Matthew 27

Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed. 2 So they bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate the governor.

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him. 

   

     My Listening

     The topic I received from Jesus is: Am I so blind as those chief priests?

All the chief priests and the elders of the people came to the decision to put Jesus to death.                      Matthew 27:1 

This morning Jesus drew my attention to the word “chief priests”. 

I counted and find out “chief priest” appears seven time in Matthew 27. In Jesus time there was one high priest, around 200 chief priests and around 7,000 priests. My question is how come all 200 chief priests were so blind to put Jesus to death. 

 As in comparison to the church nowadays, “high priest” is equal to “primate or archbishop” in Anglican term and “chief priests” equal to “bishops”. 

 All 200 bishops were blind! How could that be? 

 How easy it can be that we are not able to see the things God wants us to see. By that blindness we can kill many servants of God and even Jesus. 

How sad! 

Are you helping God’s servants recently? 

Dear Lord Jesus, 

Open my eyes to see you, to love you and to worship you. 

In Jesus name we pray,

 今日我從主耶穌領受的主題是: 我是否好像那些祭司長一樣眼盲了?

今早主耶穌開我的眼讓我見到 "祭司長"這名詞，我查考一下，發現那時候有一個大祭司，相等於聖公會的主教長，二百個祭司長，相等於主教，七千個祭司，相等於牧師。

竟然有二百個主教要置耶穌於死地!

原來屬靈的眼瞎甚至可以使宗教界的最高層殺死神的兒子，真是太可憐了!

你屬靈的眼晴是否明亮，清晰，幫助主的僕人而不是殺害主的僕人呢?

    親愛的主耶穌，

求主開我們的眼使我們可以看到你要我們看到的，幫助你的僕人而不是殺害你的僕人，奉主耶穌基督名求，阿們。

36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”

43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him. 

   

     My Listening

     The topic I received from Jesus is: Satan, the most cunning opportunist!

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” Matthew 26:41

Jesus reminded me this morning of how cunning Satan is as an opportunist! 

In the beginning of His ministry right after He was baptized He was tempted by Satan three times. He won and His ministry started but it was recorded like this: 

   When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.                    Luke 4:13 

Then Satan came back in the most opportune time when Jesus was betrayed by the betrayer, Judas, and denied by his beloved apostle, Peter. All his disciples deserted Him and fled. 

But do you know what Jesus' secret was? 

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. 

“Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”          Matthew 26: 40 – 41 

Sooner or later the opportunist, Satan will come to tempt you and you will have no way out but to fall into the temptation. Only if you can watch and pray so that you can still be in the presence and protection of Jesus (no matter how difficult the situation is), then you will be able not step into that trap. 

That is why we need to pray as often as we can personally and as a group of faithful people of God. 

You may be thinking that you know. Knowing is not enough; it's the doing that leads us to win over the Deceiver. 

Dear Lord Jesus, 

Help us to watch and pray so that we won’t betray or to deny you and your servants. 

In Jesus name we pray,

 

Amen.

 今日我從主耶穌領受的主題是: 撒但是一個非常狡猾的機會主義者!

 "總 要 儆 醒 禱 告 ， 免 得 入 了 迷 惑 。 你 們 心 靈 固 然 願 意 ， 肉 體 卻 軟 弱 了 。"   馬太福音 26:41

主耶穌在今天提醒我撒但是一個非常狡猾的機會主義者!

在耶穌剛受洗後，未開始他的傳道工作之前，在耶穌很想成功的一刻，撒但便試探耶穌三次，撒但沒有成功之後，聖經這様記載:

 魔 鬼 用 完 了 各 樣 的 試 探 ， 就 暫 時 離 開 耶 穌 。

                                                 路加福音 4:13

大家留意，撒但是暫時離開耶穌! 暫時噃，有機會再來!

然後撒但就在今日經文的時候，在耶穌最軟弱，眾叛親離的一刻，重施故技，使耶穌認為可以不背十字架，不聽神的話!

你知道主耶穌戰勝撒但的秘訣嗎?

 來 到 門 徒 那 裡 ， 見 他 們 睡 著 了 ， 就 對 彼 得 說 ： 怎 麼 樣 ？ 你 們 不 能 同 我 儆 醒 片 時 麼 ？

總 要 儆 醒 禱 告 ， 免 得 入 了 迷 惑 。 你 們 心 靈 固 然 願 意 ， 肉 體 卻 軟 弱 了 。

                                                          馬太福音 26:40- 41

 不久的將來，撒但會用為你度身訂造的方法去試探你，使你因要成功，擁有一切而離開主，使你因着不願意背十字架，不肯聽主的話陷入沮喪，混亂，無望裡面!

我們不單要經常祈禱，更要參加教會的祈禱會，才可以摧毀撒但的詭計!

    親愛的主耶穌，

求主幫助我們能儆醒禱告，使我們可以摧毀撒但的詭計，奉主耶穌基督名求，阿們。
