REC 100 Days Prayer Meeting Day 39 - How can we have the anointing that we can remain in the Lord?

 

 

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence

2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile

2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

3.   Sing a song to praise God (you are welcome to use "Father, I adore you" which I have been singing every morning for the past 20 years or your own choice to praise God)

          Father, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.

          Jesus, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.

          Spirit, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

    18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.[e] 21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is what he promised us—eternal life.

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him. 

   

     My Listening

    The topic I received from Jesus is:  How can we have the anointing that we can remain in the Lord?

    Yesterday we had the first part of a message from 1 John 2:15-17 that the way to be away from the anxiety from this pandemic is for us to understand that we cannot save ourselves, but we need Jesus to save us.

    Today's 1 John 2:18-27 is the second part of the message, telling us that we need the anointing so that we can be able to discern what is right or wrong, what is truth or falsehood. We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit in order that we would not become a religious person but a disciple of Jesus, a true Christian.

    So, how to received the anointing?

    The answer is from 1 John 2:20 "But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth."

     The Holy One is actually the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who changed us, renewed us that we know how to discern, lead us to be close to Jesus each day and that we can receive the anointing and can remain in Jesus always.

     

   May we pray for our church on the 39th  day of our 100 days Prayer Meeting now:

 

Dear Holy Spirit,

Pour down your fresh anointing upon us that we can enjoy the blessings and sweetness of being with Jesus each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
