I urge, then, first of all that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2: 1 - 2

What I heard from Jesus today is: How often do you pray for your government?

There are quite a number of statistic showing the big difference in USA since prayer was taken away from public school in 1962. Please click this link for one of many findings: http://heartofwisdom.com/blog/when-prayer-was-taken-out-of-school/

How often do you pray for your government? Do you believe in the importance of praying for those in authority of your country? Since six years ago our church, Richmond Emmanuel, has been praying for ten MPs every Sunday (five in each of our two morning services) and since then Canada changed a lot. Of course it is not because of Richmond Emmanuel Canada changed but I am sure that there are many churches and Christians suddenly aware the importance of what Paul wanted to tell us:
Pray for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

I do pray and hope that you will start to pray for you Government officials today.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to pray for our government officials. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Please click this link to read 1 Timothy 1:

"timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight holing on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith." . 1 Timothy 1: 18 - 19

What I heard from Jesus today is: Are you teachable or shipwrecked?

The purpose for Paul to write this letter is to teach his apprentice Timothy regarding his ministry and personal life, to urge him to defend the truth from distortion and corruption by false teachers and to give him instructions on supervising others especially dealing with the problems in Ephesus.

Timothy was teachable so Paul taught him well to be a good leader. Paul gave examples of those unteachable leaders using the word "shipwrecked" and he named two.

Are you teachable or shipwrecked?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be a teachable disciple of you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

What I heard from Jesus today is: If and only if you believe in the power of prayers!

The last request of Paul at the end of writing the two letters to the Thessalonians was to ask them to pray for his team. What would you request if you were Paul? Sending more people, more money, more ...

No, no, no, only more prayers! Because Paul knew the power of prayers and he lived by the power of prayers. Do you?

Paul understood when they prayed for his team then these things would happen:
1. A rapid spreading of the Gospel and people would receive and honor God's message. (v. 1)
2. Paul and his team (Silas, Timothy and others) members would be delivered from wicked and evil men.
(v. 2)

I deeply believe that because I live on the power of prayers for so many years. Today is the 15th Anniversary of Richmond Emmanuel Church. We have experienced all that Paul described in this chapter that when more and more people prayed then more people received Christ and I and my team would be delivered by various wicked and evil people.

Recently we are having a 100% growth on our weekly prayer meeting. We grow from usually 10 to 15 people coming to pray at 9a.m. to 10:15a.m. every Saturday to now having three groups of a total number of more than 30 to 40 people praying. The main group in our sanctuary, the youth group in the small room by the front door and a group in Vancouver! And, our young people have another weekly Tuesday 7a.m. to 8a.m. prayer group. It all started six months ago. What are the fruits:
1. The presence of God in our three Sunday services is more and more powerful. It is beyond any word can describe.
2. All our ministries are growing.
3. I have a new Bishop's pioneer ministry since March this year with a 15 sessions Alpha first then now a weekly simple service in a Chinese Seafood Restaurant every Wednesday 3:30p.m.. We are going to have six adults to be baptized in this Restaurant (Empire Restaurant, Richmond 金月軒) on December 14. That day will be the first official day of this new church plant and we named this new church - Emmanuel 330.
4. Tonight I led an adult to receive Jesus the first time as his Savior and Lord of life in a wedding banquet. This is the first time in my life that I led someone to Jesus in a wedding banquet.

I am quite sure all this rapid growth is because we have a 100% increase in our weekly prayer meetings. You may curious to ask a question lots of people ask me for the past so many years when I try all my best to ask people to come to our weekly prayer meeting. There question is, "I have my small group meeting and we pray there. I come to Sunday worship I pray there. Why do I need to come to the weekly prayer meeting. Isn't that a repetition of my small group and Sunday worship?" I am so joyful to get an answer from Jesus about three months ago, "The only purpose to go to a weekly prayer meeting is believing in the power of prayer, no more and no less. And, when more and more people believe in the power of prayer and dare to pray then things will happen."

I do pray and hope that you will join your church's weekly prayer meeting. If your church does not have a prayer meeting then please become the first person to initiate one weekly. Rev. Peter Ho, Senior Pastor of Tung Fook Evangelical Free Church in Hong Kong(a 4,000 average Sunday attendance mega church), will come to Richmond Emmanuel Church this Thursday to teach us the power of prayer, how to pray and how to discern God's will through prayers. And he is going to lay hands on all who come that night. They have a weekly Wednesday night prayer meeting that I attended last year and they have usually more than 500 people coming to pray every Wed. night. You are invited to come to Richmond Emmanuel Church and experience the power of prayer this Thursday night.

Remember, if and only if you believe in the power of prayer, then everything will be different!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Teach us to pray and to experience the power of prayer. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Please click this link to read 2 Thessalonians 2:

Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 2 Thessalonians 2: 3-4

What I heard from Jesus today is: When the antichrist comes, what can you do?

Yesterday around 1:15p.m. Vancouver had a 6.7 earthquake. My mom and sister called and couldn't get us and they thought we must gone to some safe place and they were very worried! In fact, I do not know anyone in Vancouver to feel any earthquake at all.

Lots of people have been worrying for centuries of the end of the world would come but it has not come yet. This chapter contains one of the New Testament's most thorough passages about what would happen when the end time really comes:
1. Unrestrained lawlessness and deception. (2: 3-12)
2. The anitchrist will come and God's judgement that will accompany Christ's second coming will happen. (2: 3, 8)

So, what will happen is none of our business but there is something for us to do as a disciple of Christ:
stand firm and hold to the teachings of the Bible. (2: 15) I think it would not be easy to stand firm and hold on to the teachings of the Bible at that time.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to stand firm and hold on to the teachings of the Bible any time in our life. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

What I heard from Jesus today is: Where is your Silas and Timothy?

Paul raised up Silas and Timothy in his second missionary journey to have a total paradigm shift through team ministry. God moved him to a new level to raise up apprentices so that a movement of multiplication could happened. Jesus reminds me of the coach and apprentice model:
I do You watch
I do You help
You do I help
You do I watch

You do Your apprentice watches
You do .........

We need to be part of Jesus' movement of multiplication and we need to find and train our Silas and Timothy. Where is your ministry team? Where is your Silas and Timothy?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to raise up more leaders to experience the power of your movement of multiplication. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 1 Thessalonians 5: 1-2

What I heard from Jesus today is: Are you ready for The Day?

I am full of joy and being greatly encouraged because of a telephone call an hour ago(Now is 11:15p.m. Sept. 7 Wednesday). A brother from my church called me telling me that he just read today's blog(DAY 187 - Be Sanctified, Ready for Rapture) and the Lord led him to think of if not for me he would not have the opportunity to receive Christ and would never be ready to meet the Lord when that day come.

This brother told us two things:
1. How important it is for each one of us to be prepare that we can meet the Lord when that day come.
2. How can we be a "mediator" to bring others to Christ so that they can have that opportunity too.

Paul reminds us that to be prepare means that we need to be in the light and not in darkness, to be awaken, alert, self-controlled and not asleep, to put on the amour of God so that the Devil cannot shoot our heart or smash our head(please go to today's Devotion on Fire blog on how the Devil hide in shadow shooting your heart, please click the link above), and then to be ready to treat other people in a manner of Christlikeness.

Are you ready for the Day? Have you tried all you best to prepare others for the Day ?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to prepare ourselves for the Day and be willing and able to prepare for more people for the Day. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
