Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Galatians 6: 1

What I heard from Jesus today is: To restore gently!

If we follow what Paul says in chapter 5, the sin that Paul is talking about is not small thing. But the attitude we need to have is to restore that person in a gentle way. What Job's friends did was not to restore but to accuse and in a very ugly way.

There is one thing we need to know before we can take a step to restore. We need to be "spiritual"! In line with what Paul is saying in chapter 5 it means we need to live by the Spirit(5:16), led by the Spirit(5:18)and keep in step with the Spirit(5: 25). By that kind of "spiritual" and the fruit of the Spirit in us God can use us to "restore" someone to a life of Christlikeness.

And, Paul reminds us that we need to watch out for we also can fall into some kind of temptation!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to be able to give other people chances and know how to restore them gently. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
