Bible Study

Paul expresses his deep love to the Thessalonians and compare his care with a mother.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
In Paul's dealings with the Thessalonians themselves, as a result, Paul could afford to be gentle, caring and loving.  He wasn't secretly out to gain anything from them; he simply and genuinely wanted the love of God to embrace them, and as he worked among them he found that his own love was drawn out to them as well.

Have you loved anyone in your church like a mother loves her child? How can this message helps you to start loving those who Jesus entrusted to you as a mother loves her children?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Love them like a mother

What I got from Jesus today is a shocking reminder for me to love those who Jesus entrusted to me as a mother loves her children.

This passage and the next one is the one John Stott, my spiritual father gave to me in July 2009 when I visited him with my son Ignatius. He told me this is the passage given by Jesus to him to give to me so that I can be a good bishop. Please click this link to read what happen that day:

It has been almost five years since Uncle John gave me that key to be a good apostle(bishop) as Paul described himself in verse 6. I have been trying my best to be a mother loving all those who Jesus entrusted to me as a bishop to take care of. It is really not easy, in fact very difficult to be a mother like that. The main and most important act of caring and loving I have done is continually to write and record my blogs and podcasts without stopping for almost five years. Please forgive me if you think I do not love you, care for you at all because I have try my best!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to take the role of a mother to love those you entrusted to us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
