Bible Study

     After Paul talks about relationships of wives and husbands, he comes to talk about relationships of children and parents, then slaves and masters. Why?

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
      Paul insists on a mutual responsibility: parents must behave appropriately towards children, which means not being harsh and provoking children so that they become bitter and want to rebel or run away.  Masters must remember that they, too, have a Master - the Lord Jesus himself.
      The final phrase says it all: there is no favouritism with Christ.

      Do you know why there are always so many problems and hurt in various kind of relationships? What is the right way to solve this universal and historical problem?

Spiritual Journal

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: True Kingship, not control or favouritism

    What I got from Jesus today is the key to solve that never ending problem and fight. When a husband, wive, parent, child, slave or master takes control on something or someone, relationship would be broken and war begins. When someone shows favouritism on another individual, there won't be any equality and fairness.

    We can find out the answer from Paul in these verses in Ephesians:
1. Kingship of Christ  
    4:1  Live a life worthy of the calling you have received

2. Please the Lord
    5:10  find out what pleases the Lord

3. Reverence for Christ
    5:21  Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ

4. Instructed by the Lord
    6:4   bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord

5. Obey Christ
    6:5    just as you would obey Christ

6. Same Lord
    6: 9   He who is both their Master and yours in heaven.

    Can you guess the answer now? Well, if we are willing to be under Jesus Lordship and Kingship, then we will be fine in all kinds of relationships, right? 
The real problem is, can Jesus really be our Lord and King?
    
Dear Lord Jesus,
Change our hearts that we can humble ourselves and obey you as our Lord and King. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
