Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Today's main passages:
Tyre has built herself a stronghold;
she has heaped up silver like dust,
and gold like the dirt of the streets.
Tyre has built herself a stronghold;
she has heaped up silver like dust,
and gold like the dirt of the streets.
But the Lord will take away her possessions
and destroy her power on the sea,and she will be consumed by fire.
But I will encamp at my temple
to guard it against marauding forces.Never again will an oppressor overrun my people,
for now I am keeping watch.
Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope;
even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you. Zachariah 9: 3-4, 8, 12
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passages we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him.
My Listening
The topic I received today is: Build your own fortress? Return to God's Fortress!
In this world, nations and people have spent all their time and resources trying to build their own fortresses and to heap up gold, lots of gold!
As what Zachariah 9:3-4 describes the end of Tyre, built her own stronghold, heaped up silver and gold, but when God's punishment came, they were no more!
But, today's Zachariah 9:8, 12 describes God sends angels encamp around His temple, that is His home! Yes, God's HOME is the real fortress!
If we are willing not to build our own fortress anymore, not to heap up silver and gold anymore and return to God's fortress, God promises us that He is going to restore us twice as much! Wow! Thank you Lord!

Dear Abba Father,
Help us not to build our own fortress anymore, not to heap up silver and gold anymore and return to Your fortress so that we can receive Your promise to restore us twice as much. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. What kind of inspiration and invitation have you received from today's message?
2. What is your next step not to build your own fortress and not to heap up silver and gold but return to God's fortress?
