Silence
40 Days Break.Build daily devotion:
Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening
Today I got a very important and inspiring topic from our Lord Jesus Christ and that is: "戰勝衰老的唯一出路"
I think since I was very young, when I read John 21:18-19 it is all about Peter and to prepare how he die. But, today I received a more important message and it is concerning all of us as human beings because we all will face aging and dying.
What Jesus wants to tell Peter and us is that when we are young, we can do everything on our own but when we get old, someday you even have to ask someone to dress you and then you may have to go to some place you do not want to, like senior home, hospital or even hospice.
It is really scaring, yes, aging is really scaring, and dying is even more scaring!
So, what Jesus wants to tell you is that the only way out to overcome aging and dying is to have him besides you at all times, that's what "follow me" means!
Today's Psalm 125:1-2 puts it very well to go with the message I got from today John's passage. If you trust Jesus will never leave you so that you experience you have Jesus besides you at all times, you will like Mount Zion never to be shaken. Jesus will like those mountains surrounding Jerusalem surrounding you at all times!
And, like what Psalm 125: 5, turn away from Jesus to walk in the crooked ways, those people will face fear, insecure, hopeless, darkness and be banished.
More message follow after the first time Jesus says, "Follow me." Because Peter asked Jesus right away of what would Jesus beloved disciple John will face, would it be better than what Peter faced? Did Jesus really love him, or loved John more? Do you know what kind of thinking is that?
That's "comparison ". All our life is full of comparison, "Am I better than you", "I want to be better than everyone." What Peter's word shows is that we as human beings might compare to the end and cannot finish well. Because we think that Jesus does not love us enough for we face this kind of trouble, suffering and burdens. Why me?
Jesus then says, "You must follow me." Yes, that's the only way to overcome aging and dying. Whether other people's situation is better than us is none of our business, that's how Jesus wanted to tell Peter. What is important is not to fear aging, not to fear dying and not to compare anymore, that is not helpful!
You must follow Jesus and have Jesus besides you at all time, that's what is important and that's the only way to overcome aging!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to follow you each day as our Lord and King so that we can overcome aging and dying. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think you can overcome aging and dying? Why YES or why NO?
2. How can you overcome aging after you read my listening today?
3. What have you received from Jesus today?
2. How can you overcome aging after you read my listening today?
3. What have you received from Jesus today?
