Silence
40 Days Break.Build daily devotion:
Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening
Today I got a funny but real topic from one of our brothers when we were praying in groups of four during our daily 7am Eucharist. And, Jesus used him to give me his catch as my catch today: "Are you ridiculous things or marvellous people?"
So, do you know how you can be among those marvellous people and not ridiculous things?
The answer is in today's all fours passages:
1. Ridiculous things - 1 Kings 9:1-9, 10:14-15,21, 26-28
Solomon heard God's voice personally and he knew that God commanded him to walk before Him faithfully. If so, he would be blessed beyond he could think of. If not, he would be rejected and disaster would come to him and his children.
We can see that in 10: 14-15, 21, 26-28 King Solomon chose not to listen to God's command of how God warned all Israelites kings that they could not do three things: to collect gold and silver, to go back to Egypt to buy the best horses and to have many wives. We can see that Solomon wrongly follow those false security and did all three, money, power and sex and he was finished and we can see that in tomorrow's passage.
Is that so, so ridiculous!
2. Marvelous people - Psalm 132: 1-5, Acts 8:14-17, 26-29, Proverbs 17:3
See how faithful Solomon's father David was who wanted to find a place for God. See how Philip was being filled by the Holy Spirit that he know where to go, what to do, when to do and how to do it!
3. The test - Proverbs 17: 3 "The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart."
4. The secret
The secret to be able to pass all those tests in our lives so that we can worship and follow God each day is the Holy Spirit!
Yes, if you are being filled by the Holy Spirit each day then you won't become ridiculous things in the eyes of other people, instead you will be marvellous people in the eyes of many people. Do you believe that can happen to you? Do you know what you need to do in order that it will happen to you each day?

Dear Holy Spirit,
Shine on me and open my eyes to see all those things blocking me that Jesus Christ cannot be my Lord and King. Lord Jesus, forgive me of all those sins and pours down your blood to cleanse my sins. Come Holy Spirit, fill me and anoint me. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think you belongs to that group of ridiculous things or marvellous people?
2. How can you experience what Philip experienced in today Act's passage?
3. What have you received from Jesus today?
Praise and Thanksgiving
