Silence
40 Days Break.Build daily devotion:
Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening
Today I got a very important message from our Lord Jesus Christ and that is: "God turned away from them and gave them over to the worship of their idols "
My heart ached again just like yesterday when I read today Acts 7:39-43. Yesterday 1 Kings passage is about how Solomon told Hiram king of Tyre that the reason for Solomon's father David could not be able to build a temple for God was because he had wars from all sides and the reason for him to build a temple for God at that time was because God gave him rest on every side. He forgot his father David used to have rest on every side. But, when David committed sins deeper and deeper then he had wars from all sides!
Then we can see that when Solomon did not obey God just as his father did. Starting from 1 Kings 11:13 -33, Solomon had wars from all sides!
Now, in today's Acts passage Stephen was witnessing the history of how God's people leaving God before the Israelites did not want to hear any more and stoned him to death.
Stephen said, "God turned away from them and gave them over to the worship of the sun, moon and stars."
Sad! Many people take God's love for granted and do not know that God's has a bottom line. When that bottom line is reached then "God turned away from them and gave them over to" worshipping their own idols which leads to destruction!
Last Tuesday and this Tuesday I removed quite a numbers of idols from a couples home who received Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord of life four months ago. When I asked Mrs. Ho, "Do your worship those idols?" She said, "Yes, I have been worshipping and serving her for many years." I said, "Do you still worship her?" She said, "No, not anymore because I believe in Jesus now." I said, "Do you want me to remove all those idols from your home. " She said, "Yes, please help us."
So, our group of three men removed nine items of idols from their home last Tuesday. And then, this Tuesday we visited them again with a group of three men and four women. One of our sisters found out there is one idol with a mirror outside their balcony and I pulled a chair, climbed up and removed it away.
If you have any idols or suspected idols please take this as a major warning and remove that right away from your home.
Why?
Because God will turn away from you and give you over to the worship of your idols! And in today's Psalm 130: 5-8 you can have your assurance that if you wait for the Lord and you put your hope in Him and not the idols, then His "unfailing love" will be with your forever and with him is "full redemption".
Please pray using this prayer:

Please pray using this prayer:
Dear Holy Spirit,
Shine on me and open my eyes to see if there are idols in my home so that I can remove them and throw them away in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think you have idols in your home, your office or other place you stay? If yes, have you pray using the prayer above?
2. Have you really remove all those idols?
3. What have you received from Jesus today?
Praise and Thanksgiving
